New  Hope

In 1981 our Founding Leaders, Joe and Tricia Rhodes, stood overlooking a suburb of San Diego and saw visions of how God wanted to bring a new hope to the surrounding community of people, neighborhoods and businesses. They dared to believe this was God's call for them and immediately threw themselves into the work of serving the people in that community with great hope, friendship and love. By 1985, Joe and Tricia purchased land and built a campus on a hilltop overlooking their promised land.

Today... Senior Leaders, Eric & Kandi Pfeiffer, met and married at New Hope Church in 2001. After many years training under other significant mentors, churches and organizations across the country, Eric and Kandi have returned to take their place in leading the "family business." They continue to cultivate a space where anyone can find God, discover their unique purpose and learn to invite God's power into everyday life.

Statement of Faith

There is only one true God who is the eternal King, Creator and Redeemer of all that is. He is perfectly holy, just, loving, and truthful. He has revealed Himself to be eternally self-existent – one being in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

The Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God.

Humankind was created in the image of God to know and enjoy Him free from sin, yet we willfully rejected the Lordship and glory of God for which we were intended. Sickness, death, and judgment entered the world because of this disobedience. Now creation experiences the effects and consequences of sin.

The Lord Jesus Christ, the one and only Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is God's Anointed One, empowered by the Holy Spirit to inaugurate God's kingdom on earth. Jesus lived a sinless life. He was crucified for our sins, died, was buried, resurrected, and ascended into heaven. He is now alive today in the presence of God the Father and in His people. He is "true God" and "true man."

We are saved by God's grace, through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Anyone can be restored to fellowship with God through repenting, believing, and receiving Jesus as their Savior and Lord. This salvation cannot be gained by good works, sincere efforts or submission to the rules, regulations or ordinances of any church. The believer is secure in salvation for eternity.

The Holy Spirit is a person and is fully God. He convicts the world concerning sin, righteousness, and judgment. He causes new birth through regeneration, baptizes into the body of Christ. He seals and indwells every Christ-follower at the moment of conversion. He empowers, guides, teaches, sanctifies and gives spiritual gifts to all God’s children.

Satan is a real being, a fallen angel, who rebelled against God, the enemy of God and humankind. The victorious and redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides freedom from the power of the enemy. As Christ-followers the Lord Jesus has given believers authority over Satan to release from the bondage of sin, restore Christ followers to their original design and destiny, and advance the kingdom of God in a world that is currently under the dominion of Satan.

The Church consists of all who put their faith in Jesus Christ. He gave His church the ordinances of baptism and communion. The Church exists to carry on the ministry of Jesus Christ and further advance His kingdom by standing against the schemes of the enemy, by demonstrating and living the good news of God's love, and by discipling the nations.

We believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ. His rule will be established on the earth forever and ever.
